Science

  • Science Challenges - a new collection of Challenges, organised by Key Stage, and based on BBC Bitesize learning. These provide additional writing opportunities for pupils. Click on the links further down the page to give them a try!
  • Starters-for-STEM is a collection of activities to promote learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. These are generally aimed at KS1 and 2, but many are open-ended and can be accessed by all ages. Click any of the links within the document below to be taken to the supporting information on the STEM website. Look out for a new collection each week!
  • 'Science - Week 1' is a themed collection of activities grouped by age range and type - this will mean that if you have children in different year groups, they should all be able to work on similar tasks, using the same type of resources. Three different suggestions are given for each age group from EYFS to Upper Key Stage 2, and there are suggestions which do not need any resources - just thinking and talking! Click on the document title below to see what is on offer.   • The booklet Journey to the South Pole contains some great learning around wildlife in the South Pole and Science understanding aimed at Reception and Year 1 children.  The booklet contains links to external videos, including Youtube and activities for adults to share with their children.
  • The booklet Journey to Space is aimed at Year 5 and 6 children.
