In Term 1 we will be welcoming the children into Reception and supporting them with a smooth transition into their learning journey at Becket Primary School. We will start the term with a short induction process which consists of our home visits followed by some sessions when the children will come in and explore their environment in small groups during the Summer term 2025. 

The children are full-time from the start but we personalise this to the needs of your child. Once the children are settled into school, we will start exploring our topic 'Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear' which has a focus on stories and rhymes linked to different types of bears. 

One of the main texts this term is 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. We will explore this lovely book by listening to the story, retelling it in our own words and acting it out in PE and in our outdoor provision. 

At the end of term, we will be celebrating our first full term at school by inviting our parents in for a teddy bear's picnic where the children will have prepared a snack and drink as well as some songs and rhymes that we have learnt. 

Our PE days this term are on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please can the children come in dressed in their PE kit.
