The BFC (The Becket Family CREW) is Becket Primary School's Parent Teacher Association.

What we do and why

We aim to provide fun events throughout the year for the whole school, and local community.

  • We organise engaging activities which support and advance the education and experience of pupils
  • We provide funding for projects, which might not otherwise be available
  • We hope to facilitate social interaction between our school, parents, children and our local community

Our events

We run an exciting annual program of events, which we try to vary as much as possible in the hope that there will be something for everyone. These include cake sales, Easter events, quiz nights, summer fair, school discos, Christmas fair, Christmas parties and coffee mornings to name a few! We welcome help with the planning and running of these events.

Money raised

Thanks to the generous support of our parents past and present, we have raised lots of money for our children. We have funded trips to the theatre and the cinema, performances by touring theatre companies and purchased playground toys. We have also donated money to the school to use on classroom projects chosen by the children.

Meetings

We hold our Annual General Meeting in September. All parents are invited to come along and take part in the proceedings. We elect a committee including a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary. Meetings are held after school once a term. New parents are always welcome to join us during our meeting.

How can you be involved?

We understand that you may not be able to attend all or any meetings but perhaps there is some other way of being involved. Can you donate your time or expertise at one of our fundraising events? Do you know someone who has a local business who would be willing to donate a raffle prize or give us a discount towards their product?

If you would like to be involved, then please contact one of our committee members and they will be able to tell you what’s going on or where help is needed.
